ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:
Established in 1993, Urban Ventures is a faith-based organization in South Minneapolis that focuses on developing youth leadership, strengthening families and creating meaningful work opportunities in our community.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific Responsibilities:
• Annual Funding
a. Develop plan with goals and strategy to achieve targeted income from each funding source; review with the Leadership Team and Board of Directors for approval.
b. Implement the plan, meeting with donors, providing monthly updates on progress and requesting assistance from others as needed.
c. Achieve Income Targets.
• Long Term Relationships
a. Build long term relationships with individuals, corporations and foundations who want to invest in the organization and its mission.
b. Ensure that the needs of Urban Ventures and the donors are met.
• Outreach to Prospective Donors
a. Represent Urban Ventures at area events to increase awareness of the organization, our mission and our outcomes.
b. Design and lead fund-raising events working with the Board.
c. Increase donor base.
d. Establish ongoing communication with all parties.
e. Plans and ensures successful Fund-Raising Events.
• Manage Development Operations
a. Supervise three positions:
i. Communications / Volunteer Manager
ii. Grants Writer
iii. Development Assistant
b. Ensure accurate, timely financial information
i. Keep IMIS system up to date
ii. Run reports to keep Leadership Team apprised of income, sources, resources needed, etc.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Requirements:
• Proven success in development with other organization(s).
• Out-going personality; eager to meet new people; experience in meeting with executives and asking for financial support.
• Attention to detail and assessment of results; strategically establishes plans.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in education.
• Great written and oral communications.
• Passion for transforming lives through Jesus Christ
