PRIMARY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conceptualize, design and produce exhibit graphics for permanent exhibits, traveling exhibits, and for public spaces. Use a range of graphic production processes (computer-based software programs, specialty services) and materials (photos and illustrated images, text, and others as need) for a variety of uses and surfaces, including prototyping graphics for short-term audience testing and durable graphics for long-term exhibit use. Design and produce directional and informational building graphics and signage. Prepare bid requests for vendors on projects as needed. Participate on museum project teams and other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for a playful, talented 2-D exhibit graphic designer with an understanding of children and family audiences. The successful candidate will have 4 year degree in graphic design or related field, a minimum of 3 years experience in graphic design, and a minimum of 3 years experience in the Museum or Museum related field.
Successful candidates will have experience designing and illustrating graphics for children and families using Adobe CS4 in a Mac environment.
