SUMMARY:
The Center for Victims of Torture provides rehabilitative support to survivors of torture and works for the prevention of torture worldwide. We work locally, nationally and internationally through programs that provide treatment services, training, research and advocacy that heal survivors and end the practice of torture. The receptionist will work at the Minneapolis Healing Center.

PRIMARY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receptionist responsibilities: Create a welcoming environment for clients and guests. Greet clients and visitors, answer the phone and direct calls, maintain calendars and room schedules, maintain the reception and kitchen areas, and schedule appointments.
Administrative support: Provide support by tracking information, completing data entry, placing reminder calls, distributing documents, managing calendars, inventorying and ordering supplies, and providing back-up support to other functions.
Equipment and facilities support: Ensure smooth functioning of equipment and facilities by maintaining office equipment, and monitoring and documenting facilities issues.
EXPERIENCE
AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
2-3 year of customer service experience in a culturally diverse environment. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive and confidential information. Ability to work autonomously and on multiple tasks at once and ability to solve practical problems. Computer skills, including MS Office, email and internet. Language skills in French, Arabic, Hmong, Oromo/Amharic desirable. Familiarity with or interest in human rights.
Hours of work: Monday-Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
