ORGANIZATION
SUMMARY:
SVC is an independent non-profit social justice organization established in 1985 working to eradicate sexual violence through social and systems change, outreach, education, direct services, advocacy and dialogue. The agency serves the Twin Cities metro area, primarily in Hennepin, Carver and Scott counties. Each year, SVC provides more than 2000 youth and adults with 24-hour crisis phone service, individual counseling, support groups, emergency room advocacy and legal clinics at no cost. In addition, the agency educates over 20,000 people through community education and professional training efforts.

PRIMARY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend regularly scheduled monthly board meetings and assigned committee meetings Provide fiscal oversight for nonprofit Hire and supervise the Executive Director Create agency policy Provide strategic direction for the agency Participate in fundraising activities Participate on a board committee
EXPERIENCE
AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Passion for eradicating sexual violence Open-minded and willing to learn Committed to serving diverse ethnic and cultural communities Skills in one of the following areas: technology, community organizing, nonprofit finance, fundraising, community activism, marketing, public relations, working with underserved populations, cultural competency with underserved population(s)
