Administrative Assistant

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:
Sustainable Resources Center, Inc. (SRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the cause of Healthy Homes. Our mission is to create healthy and efficient homes in partnership with families and communities. Our programs include weatherization, lead hazard education and control, and training. Since 1977, we have weatherized nearly 11,000 Minnesota homes. As a leader in outreach and education in the treatment of lead, we have tested thousands of children for lead poisoning, made more than 1,200 owner-occupied and rental homes lead-safe, and trained hundreds on how to successfully address home hazards.



JOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant
LOCATION: Twin Cities Metro

SALARY: $36,000    TYPE: Full Time / 40 hours    DEADLINE: 11/11/2009

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Office Management: Responsible for the day-to-day operations of office, including:
• Maintain office equipment, including copiers and postage machine, etc.
• Order and stock office supplies
• Process mail
• Make travel arrangements
• Serve as the “go-to” person for all administrative and office functions

Administrative Support:
• Provide daily support to the Executive and Deputy Directors, including managing correspondence scheduling and supporting meetings, maintaining files, and other functions
• Update manuals and organizational documents
• Provide support for fundraising efforts
• Populate and maintain databases of contacts, volunteers and funders, etc.
• Maintain files for legal documents, board minutes, organizational records, grants, human resources, etc.
• Maintain program records

Communications:
• Create and produce correspondence, reports and other special projects including: grant proposals, website updates, special announcements, and other materials.
• Maintain a calendar of events.
• Assist in marketing training and technical assistance services

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
A combination of education and experience that would meet the required knowledge and abilities.
Minimum qualifications include:
• High school graduate
• 3 years of support staff experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Understanding of principles and procedures of record keeping and filing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing and proofreading
• Understanding of basic mathematical principles.
• Ability to plan and organize work to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently on several projects simultaneously
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Experience with serving a diverse clientele
• Demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail

Applicants must receive a qualified status on a criminal background check.

Preferred qualifications include:
• Proficiency with Adobe, Powerpoint, and Access
• Proficiency with web applications
• Bilingual Spanish, Hmong or Somali preferred.
