PRIMARY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include planning and implementing violence prevention school-based and summer program activities to include: providing individual advocacy and support groups to youth impacted by violence in a dating relationship or within their homes; providing domestic/dating/peer violence related educational presentations; developing and/or enhancing partnerships with the schools, county social services, and community-based agencies; developing support group and violence prevention education curriculum; and, providing summer outreach services to children, youth, and families.
EXPERIENCE
AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications include: demonstrated experience working with children, youth and families impacted by violence; experience in support group facilitation; excellent verbal & written communication skills including prior experience in public speaking; strong ability to organize, schedule and prioritize tasks; ability to work independently; excellent skills in diplomacy and relationship building; demonstrated computer experience; ability to track and compile statistical data; ability to work varied shifts including some evening and weekend hours; and the ability to travel to various sites throughout the day/week.
