Tronix Team Associate Program Director

ORGANIZATION: Park Avenue Youth and Family Services
CATEGORY: Administration and Management

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:
We are a community organization dedicated to building up and supporting youth and families in South Minneapolis. This position works with the Tronix Team, an innovative, hands-on program bringing science and technology to urban middle school students across the Twin Cities.



JOB TITLE: Tronix Team Associate Program Director
LOCATION: Twin Cities Metro

SALARY: $1300/month + $4750 for school    TYPE: Full Time / 35 hours    DEADLINE: 07/30/2009

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tronix Team brings together diverse, dynamic, and caring adult leaders who tap the creative and intellectual capacity of adolescents to create exciting electronic projects while developing the life skills of respect, cooperation, consequential thinking, and individual accomplishment in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
Tronix Team focuses on working with youth within diverse communities presently under-represented in technology occupations. Tronix Team aims to develop technological curiosity and competence in youth while showing them the benefits of higher education.

Work Responsibilities:
*Recruit volunteers from colleges and high schools.
*Create marketing plan for program.
*Participate in planning and program evaluation.
*Manage and grow collaborations with other youth organizations.
*Expand partnerships with science related entities.
*Represent program at community events, connect with community.
*Prepare and submit appeals for funds and donations.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Needed skills and qualifications:
• Passion for urban youth.
• Clear written and oral communication skills.
• Self-starter.
• Excited about working in multi-cultural, urban setting.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
