Grant Writing/Fundraising Intern

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:
US Green Building Council Mississippi Headwaters Chapter, established in 2003, is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization with a mission to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life.



JOB TITLE: Grant Writing/Fundraising Intern
LOCATION: Twin Cities Metro

SALARY: unpaid    TYPE: Intern / 16 hours    DEADLINE: open until filled

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Handle a significant volume of grant submissions to corporations and corporate and private foundations.

2. Prospect identification, research, proposal/grant development and writing, and accurate and timely production of final proposals.

3. Assist with 2009 individual and corporate donation campaign as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Required Skills/Experience:

* Excellent writing skills
* Strong research and analytical skills.
* Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
* Good organizational skills.
* Ability to manage time efficiently and to multi-task.
* Ability to work as part of a team.


Desired Skills/Experience:

* Understanding of grant research and grantwriting.
* Understanding/experience with event planning and fundraising
