July
20 conference:
New Picture of Government Funding
The
government funding picture has changed. After years of policies
which shrunk the role of the federal government in supporting
nonprofits, particularly in areas of human services, housing
and economic development, the tide may be turning with federal
stimulus dollars, new funding opportunities and the Legacy
Amendement. This
half-day conference will take place on Monday, July 20, in
St. Paul.

How
is the unallotment affecting nonprofits?

Governor Pawlenty announced his plan for solving the remaining
state budget deficit through an unprecedented move of unallotment.
Some of the major components include cuts and shifts to K-12
education, higher education local government aid, renters'
credit, state agencies, and 28 separate unallotment proposals
for health and human services. MCN's Minnesota Budget Project
is on top of the analysis of what this means.
