MPP, through its work with the Voting Rights Coalition, supports a number of improvements to election laws, including

• 21st century voter registration HF1053/SF0660
• No-excuse absentee voting HF1112/SF0853
• Early voting HF1113/SF0970

What you can do:

• Take two minutes to visit the coalition's grassroots Web site to send an email to legislators
  
• Write a letter to the editor in your community; see templates and instructions here

Nonprofits needed for a coordinated, targeted Census 2010 effort Yesterday marked the kick-off of Census 2010; some key points to know:

• Every uncounted person is lost dollars for your community
• Minnesota is on the brink of losing one of its 8 Congressional seats, making a complete count all the more essential
• We need all hands on deck to ensure traditionally hard-to-count populations are not missed this time around

Moving forward:

• There will be a convening of nonprofits after session to plan a coordinated, targeted outreach effort
• In the meantime, you're encouraged to learn more using the resources below or by attending a town hall census meetings
