2008 Nonprofit Mission and Excellence Awards

Your conference registration includes admission to the Opening Reception and Presentation of the 2008 Nonprofit Mission and Excellence Awards. The Awards Presentation will be moderated by Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie.

The Award Recipients

The recipients of the 2008 Nonprofit Mission Awards are:

• Innovation: East African Women’s Resource Center – Confederation of Somali Communities in Minnesota, Minneapolis

• Anti-Racism Initiative: Pillsbury House Theatre – Pillsbury United Communities, Minneapolis

• Advocacy: Transit Partners, St. Paul

• Responsive Philanthropy: American Indian Family Empowerment Program, Arden Hills

The recipients of the 2008 Nonprofit Excellence Awards are:

• For a Small Organization: St. Mary’s Health Clinics
• For a Large Organization: Washburn Center for Children

About the Awards

The Nonprofit Mission and Excellence Awards emphasize the importance of nonprofits to the quality of life in Minnesota by recognizing achievements that make a significant impact in the areas of innovation, advocacy, anti-racism, responsive philanthropy and overall excellence. Recipients will receive a financial gift (except in the case of responsive philanthropy) and a Minnesota-made art glass award, and will be honored among their peers on Friday, October 3, 2008.
