Sondra Reis has a special
interest in leadership, management and organizational development
theories relating to the effective functioning of nonprofit organizations.
From the vantage point of her position as Associate Director of
the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN), the largest state association
of nonprofits in the U.S., Sondra tracks issues related to the nonprofit
sector’s workforce, financial structures and regulation. She
oversees MCN's internal functions as well as its services to nonprofits
in the areas of publishing, training, leadership development and
communications. Prior to her current position, she was MCN's Membership
Director. Sondra has held a variety of leadership positions on boards
and committees of local and national nonprofits, including the Minnesota
Real Estate Foundation, LegalCORPS, Nonprofits Assistance Fund and
the Unemployment Services Trust. She was a 2006–2007 Humphrey
Institute Policy Fellow (University of Minnesota) and a 2008 American
Marshall Memorial Fellow (German Marshall Fund of the United States).
Sondra has a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management from the Mandel
Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Case Western Reserve University
in Cleveland, Ohio.
