Bao Vang is the Leadership Program Coordinator at the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits. She joined MCN in 2003 initially as the Executive Assistant. With extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, including Lao Hmong Community, Inc., in Detroit, MI, Hmong American Partnership and Children, Families, and Community Initiative through the St. Paul Foundation, Bao works tirelessly to help nonprofits achieve their missions through sustainable practices and increase their leadership development through MCN's Nonprofit Leadership Program. Bao is an active member of the Hmong community and works closely with immigrant and refugee-led nonprofits. In other related activities, Bao is a member of Asian American Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy – MN Chapter, Hmong Women’s Giving Circle, and served on the Capital Campaign Committee for the Asian Pacific Cultural Center. She helped found and start the Hmong Student Organization at Michigan State University.
